Launching of a new laboratory

On April 1, 2023, Quantum Frontiers Laboratory, headed by Project Professor Yamanouchi of Institute for Attosecond Laser Facility, was established at School of Science. Quantum Chemistry Laboratory at Department of Chemistry, School of Science was closed upon the formal retirement of Professor Yamanouchi from the University of Tokyo, and the new Quantum Frontiers Laboratory will take over its activities and promote research with four research staff members, including Professor Yamanouchi, and seven graduate students.

Professor Yamanouchi assumed the position of Director of Institute for Attosecond Laser Facility on November 1, 2022. He was also appointed Project Professor of the institute on April 1 of this year.
