May 2010   The 2nd STAR Symposium was held

The 2nd Shanghai-Tokyo Advanced Research Symposium on Ultrafast Intense Laser Science (STAR Symposium) was held through May 27-28, 2010, at Xiamen University, Xiamen, China.

This marks the second in the series of symposia started in February 2010 at the University of Tokyo. At STAR 2, researchers from three major research and education institutions in Shanghai as well as those from the University of Tokyo, RIKEN, NTT Basic Research Laboratories, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Keio University, and Laval University (Canada) presented their achievements in the field. There were also many poster presentations reporting on frontier achievements in the field of ultrafast intense laser science in Japan and China.
